New Head of Cellular, Developmental and Physiological Sciences appointed
21 June 2013

Alison will lead the Cellular, Developmental and Physiological Sciences team - formerly part of Molecular and Physiological Sciences, which has been split into two teams. The second team, Genetic and Molecular Sciences, will continue to be led by Dr Michael Dunn.
Alison studied pharmacology at King's College London, followed by a PhD in biochemistry, before spending time in research at the Boston University School of Medicine and Guy's Hospital, London. Before joining the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, she was a senior lecturer at King's College London.
"I am delighted to be joining such an innovative and forward-thinking organisation as the Wellcome Trust at a time when we have the exciting challenge of translating genetic, molecular and cellular advances into real health benefits," says Alison. "The scientific areas I will focus on are pivotal to achieving this, and I look forward to building a team that will support these very important areas of basic research."
