New call for proposals for innovative PhD training programmes
5 October 2012

The Wellcome Trust will continue its support of the next generation of researchers by enabling them to be trained in centres of academic excellence, so they can meet future challenges in their chosen field of research.
Support for each programme will be for a period of five years, with a typical annual intake of no more than five researchers; however, the proposed intake should reflect the availability of high-quality training opportunities within the programme.
The principal applicant should be the proposed director of the programme. This individual should be a recognised international leader in their field with a strong record in postgraduate research training.
Preliminary applications should be submitted by 10 December 2012 and full applications, if invited, will be required by 26 April 2013; decisions will be made in July 2013.
For more information and information on how to apply, see ‘New PhD Programmes for Clinicians’ or ‘Four-year PhD Programmes’.
