New scheme for Centres for Global Health Research
18 May 2012

Since 1994, the Wellcome Trust has supported several Centres for Research in Clinical Tropical Medicine aiming to attract UK clinicians into academic research careers and develop and support the UK's recognised leadership in the field.
This call will expand the remit of the existing Centres and provide opportunities for other institutions to take part. Funding for the Centres for Global Health Research will provide support to public health and tropical medicine researchers, including clinicians and non-clinicians from the UK and researchers from low- and middle-income countries.
For more information on the scheme, visit the Wellcome Trust Centres for Global Health Research page. Prospective applicants should first contact the Wellcome Trust, emailing a brief outline of their vision for a Centre and a list of potential institutions involved to cghr2012@wellcome.ac.uk.
Preliminary application forms will only be sent to prospective applicants after initial discussions with Trust staff to explore the suitability of the proposal.
