Comedy tour exposes the maths of death

23 January 2012

The critically acclaimed comedy tour ‘Your Days are Numbered’ is embarking on a national tour with support from a Wellcome Trust People Award.

Audiences from Plymouth to Harrogate will be treated to an extraordinary evening of entertainment and intellect on the mathematics and statistics of death. But the show comes with a warning: you have a 0.000043 per cent chance of dying during the show.

Featuring the expert 'stand-up mathematician' Matt Parker and writer and comedian Timandra Harkness, this intelligent show takes comedy in a new and thought-provoking direction.

Death is a funny thing, as Matt and Timandra set out to prove with the help of a mystery guest, a game show and the Grim Reaper. Following rave reviews at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and fantastic receptions at Science Festivals across the UK, ‘Your Days Are Numbered’ will now tour theatres and comedy clubs around the UK until May 2012.

Described by 'Chortle' magazine as: "Dead fascinating stuff, imparted with a light, unpatronising touch…it's certainly not just for maths geeks," the show has something for everybody.
