Wellcome Trust publishes Annual Review 2011

21 December 2011

The Wellcome Trust’s ‘Annual Review 2011’ is now available, presenting a selection of our major activities and achievements in the year from October 2010 to September 2011.

We made the first Wellcome Trust Investigator Awards this year, and announced plans for a new open-access life sciences journal. Trust-funded research led to the revision of the World Health Organization's guidelines for treating children in Africa with severe malaria and the pilot results from the 1000 Genomes Project were published.

Wellcome Collection received nearly half a million visitors over the year, and extended the reach of our major temporary exhibitions with accompanying events across the UK. Finally, we celebrated our 75th anniversary this year with a programme of events to explore and explain the world of science through art, music, film and theatre.

You can find the ‘Annual Review 2011’, plus links to related content on our website A Summary Annual Review is also available, which highlights some of the stories and key facts and figures for 2010/11.

For details of our finances and investments, see our ‘Annual Report and Financial Statements 2011’, also published today.
