Acclaimed theatrical experience returns for new UK tour
6 May 2011

'Reykjavik' explores the neurological and psychological processes of autobiographical memory. Part travelogue, part forensic reconstruction, 'Reykjavik' is an intimate, multi-sensory and immersive theatrical experience.
An audience of 25 are invited to don forensic suits on a guided tour of actor and creator Jonathan Young's Icelandic past, in search of a half-forgotten love affair. Imagine being lost in a foreign country, bright lights and fog distorting your view. Whatever possessed you to come here? How far can we trust our own memory?
Supported by a Wellcome Trust Arts Award, the production was created by an award-winning team of directors in collaboration with neuroscientist Hugo Spiers. Now, after a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010, including a nomination for a Total Theatre Award, 'Reykjavik' has received additional funding from the Wellcome Trust to support the 2011 tour.
