Applications for Senior Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine now open

5 May 2011

World-class researchers tackling ambitious research that aims to understand and control diseases affecting human or animal health are being invited to apply for Wellcome Trust Senior Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

The Senior Fellowships are the most prestigious of the Wellcome Trust's public health and tropical medicine awards, which aim to build sustainable capacity in academic institutions in low- and middle-income countries. The awards support outstanding researchers in establishing themselves as leading investigators at academic institutions in low- and middle-income countries.

Fellowships are for up to five years in the first instance and provide support that includes a basic salary, research expenses, training costs, a flexible funding allowance and support to attend scientific meetings.

The deadline for preliminary applications is 10 June 2011. Find out more on the scheme pages.
