Video feature: Leading research organisations outline their vision for new open access journal

7 July 2011

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Max Planck Society and the Wellcome Trust are supporting a new, top-tier, open access journal for biomedical and life sciences research.

The new journal aims to attract and define the very best research publications from across these fields. All research published in the journal will make highly significant contributions that will extend the boundaries of scientific knowledge.

In this video, representatives from the three organisations outline their vision for the journal, a publication "for scientists, edited by scientists". Speakers include Dr Robert Tjian, President of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Professor Herbert Jäckle, Vice President of the Max Planck Society, and Sir Mark Walport, Director of the Wellcome Trust.
