India fellowship schemes open
23 July 2009

The India Alliance is operated as an independent, public charitable trust based in Hyderabad, India. It offers three levels of fellowship at key career stages: early, intermediate and senior. Applications are invited in research areas across all of biomedical science, from fundamental molecular and cellular studies to clinical and public health research.
The competitions for the Senior Fellowships and Early Career Fellowships are now open.
Senior Fellowships support outstanding researchers, either medically qualified or science graduates, who wish to pursue an independent research career in an academic institution in India. Candidates should have between five and ten years' research experience at a postdoctoral level, or clinical equivalent, and have a substantial record of publications in their research area.
Early Career Fellowships support the most promising newly qualified postdoctoral researchers, to help them to make an early start in launching their independent research careers, working in the best laboratories in India.
Applicants from last year who were not invited to submit a full application are not restricted from reapplying this year, subject to their meeting the eligibility criteria.
Preliminary application forms for either scheme must be submitted by 14 September 2009.
For more information and preliminary application forms, see the Wellcome Trust-DBT India Alliance fellowships pages.
