UKPMC launches new grant reporting service

3 June 2009

A new grant reporting service has been launched by UK PubMed Central (UKPMC), the free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature set up by leading UK research funders in partnership with the British Library.

‘My UKPMC’ is now available to grantholders funded by any of the UKPMC Funders' Group member organisations, including the Wellcome Trust.

Using the service, grantholders can easily report on and share the outcomes of their grants by creating publicly available web pages that will update dynamically whenever a new publication is added to either PubMed or UK PubMed Central.

The service also provides users with a 'My Impact' report showing the number of citations each paper has attracted. A citation count, using data from the Thomson/Reuters Web of Knowledge, is updated continuously with the most up-to-date data, and users with full access to the Web of Knowledge will be able to see details of the citing articles.

Over time, UKPMC hopes to add more services, such as data on the number of downloads from the UKPMC repository.

A step-by-step guide to using 'My UKPMC' is available.

Further questions and comments can be directed to the UKPMC Helpdesk by emailing ukpmc@bl.uk or phoning 01937 546699.
