A taxidermist who writes essays on her blog about 17th-century anatomists and embalmers; an achondroplasic academic who works on the mathematics of quasicrystals; and a widowed sheep farmer who lost her stock during the 2001 foot and mouth crisis in Cumbria. What do these three characters have in common?
They’re all brought together in ‘The Embalmer’s Book of Recipes’, a new novel by Ann Lingard (aka Ann Lackie).
A History of Medicine Research Expenses Grant in 2001 supported some of the research for the novel, which is published by IndepenPress.
