Small Arts Awards
10 December 2008
We have funded a number of Small Arts Awards. These include Marie Curie and the Discovery of Radium, a multilanguage project for schools by Théâtre Sans Frontières and Newcastle’s Centre for Life, investigating the story of Marie Curie’s groundbreaking research.
Elsewhere, visual artist Franziska Schenk will work with cutting-edge biomimetic paint technology to create artworks inspired by the eyespots of butterfly wings and Darwin’s theories of eye development.
Photographer Karen Hitchlock and writer Rose Flint are developing a series of portraits exploring the experiences of children and families affected by cleft lip and/or palate. The portraits will be exhibited in three regional hospitals and at national and international conferences.
