Conference Centre gift aids over half a million

30 July 2008

Wellcome Collection Conference Centre
The Wellcome Collection Conference Centre has announced that it will gift aid its profits back to support the overall running costs of Wellcome Collection, the unique venue that houses it. The gesture - of over half a million pounds - is in keeping with the Conference Centre’s corporate social responsibility objectives.

Speaking of the decision at a recent celebratory event, John Cooper, Director of Resources at the Wellcome Trust congratulated the Conference Centre’s team in their success to date, commenting: “We are now in the privileged position of being able to gift aid the profits from the business back to the Wellcome Trust, the charity behind this tremendous building. The cash will provide a substantial contribution to Wellcome Collection over the next year.”

As an integral part of Wellcome Collection, a unique venue that is both an art gallery and museum, the Conference Centre opened in May 2007. From MPs and singers to jazz bands and sports stars, delegates have enjoyed the state-of-the-art conference facilities alongside the intriguing settings of the galleries. Clients have been as diverse as banks, media organisations, local government and consumer organisations.

The facilities comprise a 150-seat auditorium, four meeting rooms and open breakout spaces. For more details visit the Conference Centre website.
