Still from malaria animation
Key content from the award-winning Topics in International Health CD-ROMs is now freely available online.

Researchers, students and teachers can now access text and animations from the Wellcome Trust's award-winning series of tropical health CD-ROMs for free, simply by visiting the Trust's website.

The 14-strong series of CD-ROMs, Topics in International Health, cover a range of diseases and health topics of global significance, including malaria, human African trypanosomiasis and trachoma. Key content from each title is now available online for not-for-profit, educational use.

Each disc contains a series of tutorials covering the main aspects of the disease(s) in question, such as epidemiology, transmission, diagnosis and management. The tutorials are now available to download as text files. Colour animations illustrating important and relevant concepts for each title are also available. The animations cover a range of topics, including key mechanisms of disease, parasite life cycles and guides to performing diagnostic tests.

To access these resources, select the Topics in International Health title you are interested in. Then click 'download selected content' to reach a list of the files available.

The Topics in International Health series is suitable for students, teachers, researchers and healthcare professionals, particularly those working in the developing world. Hard copies of the discs are not available directly from the Wellcome Trust, but can be ordered - subject to availability - from Teaching-aids At Low Cost (TALC). See more details on how to order.
