Science on film

23 November 2007

Have you got a great idea for a documentary exploring or inspired by biomedical science? This is your opportunity to make your film while learning from the UK's foremost broadcast professionals and biomedical scientists, with the Documentary Filmmakers Group and Wellcome Trust's new initiative: Science on Film.

Science on Film is a unique opportunity for filmmakers and biomedical scientists to collaborate on an intensive film production and training scheme taught by leading broadcast professionals and scientists. Successful applicants will participate in an intensive training programme, which includes seminars, script development workshops and intensive hands-on training in the documentary production process. Filmmakers and scientists will then work in partnership to produce short films inspired by science, to be edited by broadcast editors.

Films will premiere at a special gala event in London with leading TV and science figures in attendance. They will also be entered for the Wellcome Broadcast Development Awards and showcased on Channel 4's FourDocs.

The deadline for applications to participate in Science on Film is Monday 10 December 2007. For more information and application forms contact:
