Female researchers

Funding: Transatlantic PhDs

19 September 2007

The Wellcome Trust has launched a four-year PhD scheme in partnership with the National Institutes of Health in the USA.

The scheme will allow five of the UK's most promising postgraduate students to train in some of the best laboratories in the UK or the Republic of Ireland and in the intramural campus of the National Institutes of Health at Bethesda, Maryland.

The five successful students will undertake a collaborative project and be co-mentored by supervisors at both locations, probably spending an equal amount of time in both laboratories, depending on the particular research project.

Applications should be submitted by 3 December 2007. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview by the end of January 2008.

Candidates should direct all enquiries to wtnih@wellcome.ac.uk.
