Funding: Exploring evolution

24 July 2007

Dean Madden (University of Reading) has received a Wellcome Trust Society Activity Award to develop activities that help students aged 16-19 explore the modern genetic evidence for evolution.

The project, 'From DNA to Darwin', which brings together students, evolutionary biologists and science communicators, will feature practical bioinformatics activities built around recent research in genetics. The activities will cover aspects of microbiology, human evolution, and plant and animal biology, and should help students to develop their understanding of how different areas of biology are linked. All material used in the project will be freely available to view and download from the internet.
