Funding: £30m capital funding available for science-based activity

25 July 2007

The Wellcome Trust is pleased to announce a new biennial competition to provide capital funding (above £1 million) for large-scale projects that support science-based activity.

The capital projects will be in partnership with the host institution, and will facilitate internationally competitive, leading-edge biomedical research that would not otherwise be possible.

The research area must fall within the Trust's biomedical science remit. Up to £30 million is available for the first round of this initiative.

Requests may constitute a significant element of a larger initiative. Awards can include new build and/or refurbishment.

For further information, see our capital funding for science-based activity page.

Capital funding for public engagement and medical history or for learned societies is also available from the Trust through an annual scheme.
