update: High on emotion

24 April 2007

Professor Ray Dolan has received the 2007 Max Planck Research Award for his work on emotional learning and decision-making.

Professor Dolan, Director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at University College London, uses sophisticated neuroimaging techniques to examine a variety of human cognitive processes and behaviours, particularly the role of the 'emotional brain'.

The Max Planck Research Awards, of €750 000 each, are granted each year to one international and one German scientist who have achieved international recognition in a specific field.
