Update: 'From the heart' now booking

27 June 2007

Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July
12.30, 14.15, 16.00
Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London

Take a journey through the human heart in this interactive workshop at newly launched Wellcome Collection. Internationally acclaimed performers Eugene Skeef, Roxana Pope and Jonny Wilson will guide you through the unique experience of playing, moving and making beats to music from the heart.

The themes that will be explored include: resonance, being in tune/wellbeing, the heart in relation to different emotions and how heart rates relate to different types of music. Water drums, udus (ceramic pot drums), laptops and human bodies are just some of the instruments that will be available to play.

There will be drumming, singing, movement, VJ-ing, live sampling and other creative and rhythmic exercises inspired by your own pulse.

Each workshop lasts for one hour and is suitable for all ages.
