Update: Wellcome Collection

29 May 2007

We're delighted to announce that Wellcome Collection events are now open for booking. Visit the Wellcome Collection website to book and for the chance to win VIP launch event tickets.

Opening in full on 21 June, Wellcome Collection is a stunning mix of galleries, events and library, bringing to life Sir Henry Wellcome's vision of a place to explore human health and identity. Step inside and you'll discover over 1500 extraordinary exhibits spanning six centuries, a world-renowned collection of books and manuscripts, and a café and bookshop in which to relax and browse.

Our first event, 'Curious Collections', is a special late-night opening of all three galleries, where you'll be joined by storytellers and artists for an evening's entertainment.

We'll also be staging themed exhibitions providing radical insights into the human condition. The first is 'The Heart'. Come and view artefacts ranging from Aztec sacrificial knives to dissection drawings of the heart by Leonardo da Vinci...explore the heartbeat with a drum and dance workshop...take part in a live open-heart operation...and discuss the emotions. It's an unmissable opportunity to lean more about your body's most precious organ.

Entry is free, so treat your mind to a visit soon.
