The Wellcome Trust, along with Research Councils UK and representative organisations for librarians and publishers, has become a signatory to the Research Information Network's statement of principles on scholarly communications.
These principles recognise that maximising access to research results through an effective scholarly communications system is an essential underpinning for high-quality research and knowledge transfer in the UK.
The principles are in accord with the Trust's position on open access to research literature and to data.
