update: life of crick

9 October 2006

Francis Crick, Matt Ridley's biography of the Nobel Prize-winning father of modern genetics, was published in September 2006.

The biography, the first in a new series of Eminent Lives biographies from HarperCollins, traces Crick's life from his birth in 1916 to his death in 2004. It draws heavily on the archive of Crick's personal and professional papers, which were purchased by the Wellcome Trust in 2001, and have since been catalogued and released for study in the Wellcome Library.
