Update: Wellbeing well-received

10 August 2006

Three events held in July 2006 at the Soho Theatre in London offered a taste of what to expect from the events programme once Wellcome Collection opens next summer.

The free evening events, exploring the impact of happiness, music and medicine on the nation's wellbeing, were oversubscribed and generated significant public interest, especially following features on national and regional radio, including Radio 2's 'Johnnie Walker' show and Radio 4's 'Today'.

Wellcome Collection, opening in summer 2007, is the Wellcome Trust's major new public venue; it will take a thoughtful and experimental look at what connects medicine, life and art, rooting science in the broad context of health and wellbeing. Based in central London, it will feature innovative exhibitions and events around medical science and its place in society.
