Update: Exploring the human mind

4 July 2006

As part of the European Science Open Forum 2006 taking place this July in Germany, the Wellcome Trust presents 'The Brain in Mind', one and a half days of performance, talks, discussion and film exploring and celebrating the human brain in all its complexity.

Highlights include the German premiere of 'How to Live' by Bobby Baker, one of Britain's leading performance artists, featuring a live demonstration of the effectiveness of her new therapy with one of her patients – a frozen pea.

A panel of distinguished scientists and historians, including renowned neuroscientist Professor Wolfram Schultz, will provide cutting-edge insights into the inner workings of the human brain.

Also, an exhibition of acclaimed film material will present some of the Wellcome Trust's work in science and the arts, offering exciting and often personal insights into the brain.

All the events are free, but booking is recommended. To reserve a place at The Brain in Mind, email communications@wellcome.ac.uk.
