Funding: New grants

A selection of projects funded through the Physiological Sciences stream:

  • Professor Steve O'Rahilly (University of Cambridge) – programme grant. Studies of severe insulin resistance.
  • Professor Malcolm Parker (Imperial College London) – programme grant. The hormonal mechanisms that influence fat accumulation and female fertility.
  • Professor Christopher Barratt (University of Birmingham Medical School) – project grant. How sperm move towards an egg.
  • Dr Ketan Patel (Royal Veterinary College) – project grant. Why the enlarged muscles of myostatin-deficient mice are inherently weak.
