UPDATE: Chalmers medal

Dr Nick Day, Director of the Wellcome Trust Major Overseas Programme in Thailand, has been awarded this year's Chalmers Medal by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

The award is recognition of Dr Day's contributions to tropical medicine research. He is the latest in a long line of Trust-funded researchers to be awarded the Chalmers Medal. Previous Trust-funded recipients include Ralph Lainson (1971, Belem Unit, Brazil), Jeffrey Shaw (1978, Belem), Nick White (1993, Southeast Asia), Kevin Marsh (1994, Kenya), Bob Snow (1999, Kenya), François Nosten (2002, Thailand) and Liz Corbett (2004, Zimbabwe).
