Funding: Engaging Science

16 January 2005

In September 2005 the Wellcome Trust launched a grant scheme to support academic research aimed at advancing knowledge about public engagement with biomedical science.

Under the new scheme, named 'Society Awards: Research', we have identified two themes we would particularly like explored:

  • Developing and establishing methods of public engagement with biomedical science
  • How attitudes are formed and changed in relation to biomedical science.

We will also fund applications not linked to these themes and offer an open call for applications that address other research questions focusing on public engagement with biomedical science.

The deadline for the first call for proposals is 1 March 2006.
