Our funding is made possible by the income derived from our asset base – a mixed portfolio of property, equities and other forms of investment. The asset base is managed both to secure our long-term future and to generate income to support ongoing funding commitments.
The investment portfolio has benefited this year from an upturn in global markets. Expenditure also increased significantly this year. Overall, we currently plan to spend some £2.25 billion over the next five years.
