Princess opens science learning centre

HRH The Princess Royal officially opened Science Learning Centre London at the Institute of Education on Tuesday 19 October 2004. The centre is part of the £51 million national network of Science Learning Centres, jointly funded by the Department for Education and Skills and the Wellcome Trust.

The network is intended to provide high-quality professional development opportunities for science teachers. Science Learning Centre London is run by the Institute of Education, the Science Museum, Birkbeck and University College London.
