Book prize for Darwin author

Professor Janet Browne, a historian based at the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at University College London, has won the 2002 US National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography/Autobiography, for the second volume of her acclaimed biography of Charles Darwin. 'Charles Darwin: The Power of Place' was also awarded the Founder's Medal of the Society for the History of Natural History.
