Our funding areas
We support a wide array of projects across a spectrum of technologies and therapeutic areas; our key criterion is that the project addresses an unfulfilled medical need, or is an enabling tool in healthcare R&D.
We work with inventors from many different fields, including biology, chemistry, engineering, physical sciences, mathematics and medicine. What they have in common is that they have good ideas that can be turned into practical applications to improve health.
While we are happy to discuss any innovation that could meet an unfulfilled healthcare need, most of our projects fall into these categories:
- diagnostics, for such uses as disease detection, disease monitoring and point-of-care diagnosis
- enabling technologies that help clinical research and development for patient care
- medical devices, which include surgical devices and tools for assisted living
- regenerative medicine, to complement surgery or therapeutic interventions
- therapeutics, whether biological or small-molecule based
- vaccines, both prophylactic and therapeutic.
