The UK's premier public engagement experience linking science to the Games for everyone in 2012

The Olympic and Paralympic Games are an opportunity to witness countless extraordinary feats of the human body. How do athletes move so fast or jump so high? How do they get 'in the zone', and what happens inside our bodies and minds when we take part in sport, performance or dance?

Endorsed by Sir Steve Redgrave CBE and a key strand of LOCOG's national Get Set+ programme, In the Zone will delight, inspire, entertain and engage people with the amazing human body, against a backdrop of Games-time excitement.

FREE experiment kits for all UK schools The Wellcome Trust posted a free In the Zone kit brimming with scientific equipment, teaching resources and experiments to UK schools and further education colleges in spring 2012. Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games and mapped to the science and PE curricula, In the Zone kits contain acitivites and investigations to help teach the science behind sport and activity for pupils aged 4-19.
