Master's Awards
Purpose
This scheme enables scholars to undertake basic training in research and methods through a one-year Master's course in the history of medicine.
Strong preference is given to applicants intending to make a long-term academic career in the subject.
What's included
The award is for one year, and includes:
- the student's stipend
- all compulsory university and college fees at the UK home postgraduate student level.
Fees at the overseas rate will not be provided.
Eligibility
You should have a minimum of an excellent upper-second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
Applications will not be considered from those who have already received support for their postgraduate studies from another funding body.
Unsuccessful applicants will normally not be allowed to resubmit in a subsequent year.

- Centre for History in Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
- Centre for the History of Medicine, University of Glasgow
- Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge
- Department of History, University of Ulster at Jordanstown, Northern Ireland / Centre for the History of the Body, University College Dublin, Republic of Ireland.
