Developing countries grant schemes

The focus of the developing countries grant schemes is strengthening capacity for research into the ethical, legal, social, cultural and public policy aspects of biomedical research and healthcare in developing and restructuring countries.

For research to be funded under the developing countries grant schemes, ethical issues must be central to its aims. We are happy to fund research that is largely descriptive but we would encourage some critical analysis of the ethical implications of any data gathered for healthcare practice or policy.

Some examples of awards we have made through these schemes may be found in these research summaries.

Principal applicants should be based in a developing or restructuring country and the majority of the proposed research should take place in a developing or restructuring country.
