These grant schemes provide personal support to post-graduate students as well as academics, healthcare professionals and scientist who wish to take research leave in order to develop a project in the medical humanities.

Doctoral Studentships
This scheme enables scholars to undertake up to three years of full-time research in Medical History and Humanities leading to a doctoral degree.

Master’s Awards
This scheme enables scholars to undertake basic training in research and methods through a one-year Master's course in Medical History and Humanities.

Research Leave Awards
These awards allow university staff in the UK or Republic of Ireland to be released from duties to undertake an uninterrupted period of full-time research.

Short-term Research Leave Awards for clinicians and scientists
This scheme enables clinicians or scientists to undertake short-term, full-time research at centres or departments with expertise in medical history.
