Translational Medicine and Therapeutics Programmes

Print the contents of all the tabs on this page (excludes global navigation tabs)

Purpose

This flagship scheme established four high-quality integrated research training programmes for clinicians in translational medicine and therapeutics.

The programmes have been developed around a unique partnership between academic and industrial partners. Support for the programmes has been provided to the host institutions by GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Roche, AstraZeneca, Sanofi-Aventis, Sirtris Pharmaceuticals and PTC Therapeutics.

Each programme has been structured to reflect the expertise of individual institutions and their industrial partners. Together they offer a unique opportunity for translational medicine training in the UK.

Clinical PhD Programmes and Joint Basic and Clinical PhD Programmes are also available.

Four programmes have been established, based in centres of excellence throughout the UK, which can provide research opportunities that will appeal to clinicians drawn from across the range of specialties.
