Liver fibrosis

A Southampton Clinical Research Facility success story.

The Southampton Clinical Research Facility initiated and coordinated a 13-site Europe-wide study to identify non-invasive, blood serum markers of liver fibrosis.

This study led to the identification, regulatory approval and commercialisation of the Enhanced Liver Fibrosis 'ELF' marker panel in conjunction with iQur Limited and Siemens.

The paper 'Serum Markers Detect the Presence of Liver Fibrosis: A cohort study' was published in 'Gastroenterology' in December 2004 (volume 127, issue 6, pp. 1704-1713).
