Edinburgh Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility

The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility in Edinburgh provides an optimal environment for clinical research with state-of-the-art facilities for researchers and clinical, laboratory and specialised technical support.
What kind of work is conducted there?
A new-generation MRI scanner will advance work on inflammation in cardiovascular and central nervous system conditions and work on metabolism in a range of tissues.
The Facility already has a strong track record in detailed cardiovascular clinical studies, including a programme of work investigating endothelial and vascular function.
The Facility also supports longitudinal research into age-related cognitive decline and studies investigating genetic determinants of common diseases.
Specialist support and expertise are available for all researchers through five departmental 'core areas': Epidemiology and Statistics, Integrative Physiology, Mass Spectrometry, Genetics and Imaging.
There is also a comprehensive research training programme.
