If you're thinking about engaging people with your research, or have just started to do so, register for our one-day introductory engagement workshop at the Wellcome Trust on Friday 5 October 2007.

Led by Melanie Smallman and Steve Mesure, two of the foremost science engagement professionals in the UK, this workshop will provide an overview of public engagement, the methods available and a chance to think about what might work for you.

As well as a discussion with professionals and actively engaging researchers about the motives and principles behind effective engagement, there will be problem-based investigation of different engagement approaches and an opportunity to look at how these could apply to your science.
