Our work: Primary science projects
Young people's interest in science is often sparked during their primary education. We have developed a programme of work that is intended to help us understand current issues in primary science and how to improve its teaching; it is one of the focus areas of our 2010-2020 Education Strategy [PDF 84KB].

We collaborated with Croydon Council in 2010-12 to explore ways to improve the transition between primary and secondary school.
In spring 2012, the Wellcome Trust sent every primary and secondary school in the UK a free In the Zone kit packed with engaging activities exploring the science of the human body in motion.
