Are you In the Zone?
In spring 2012, the Wellcome Trust sent every primary and secondary school in the UK a free In the Zone kit packed with engaging activities exploring the science of the human body in motion.
Inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we created two kits, one for ages 4-11 and another for ages 11-19. Each kit contains exciting scientific equipment, experiments and planning guides for curriculum-linked investigative lessons.
We have received great feedback from schools that have used their kits, and there are now some fun follow-up activities available online. There is also a Live Data Zone, where secondary school students can upload their results and use interactive graphs to compare their performance against students in other schools.
