Working with schools in STEM public engagement

In 2011 the Wellcome Trust commissioned a report examining the approaches taken by Wellcome Trust-funded research centres when working with schools. A series of visits to centres and interviews with personnel informed the research into how centres work with schools, the factors that encourage and hinder this work, and the conditions that are needed to foster engagement with schools.

We have now published this report, along with guidelines which can be used be any organisationworking with schools to engage young people with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).If you are wondering where to start your work with schools, how to develop a strategic approach to your educaiton work or how to develop, deliver and review your schools programme then these guidelines can help.

The report and guidelines are available to download.
