Everything you need to explore evolution with your students…

The student activity is based around different styles of scientific writing.

It gives pupils a chance to read, analyse and evaluate articles on evolution written in a variety of styles, including a scientific journal, a newspaper article, a web article and an exam question essay.

Pupils have the opportunity to write their own piece in any of the styles and enter it in the Big Word competition being run by the Wellcome Trust in partnership with 'New Scientist'.

Some great prizes are available, including the chance for pupils to have their work published in 'New Scientist', an iPod Nano, £300 for their school science department and lots of other prizes.

Deadline for competition entries is 30 March 2007.

Support notes for you and your students are provided below, and are linked to from the students' page.
