Working with Schools in STEM Public Engagement

In 2011 the Wellcome Trust commissioned a report examining the approaches taken by Wellcome Trust-funded research centres when working with schools. A series of visits to centres and interviews with personnel informed the research into how centres work with schools, the factors that encourage and hinder this work, and the conditions that are needed to foster engagement with schools.

The report informed the production of a set of guidelines for centres and other organisations who work with schools in STEM public engagement. These guidelines include advice on getting started with working with schools, developing a strategic approach, making things happen and reviewing achievements.
