Financial summary 2006/07

Our total charitable expenditure for the year grew slightly to £520 million (2006: £484m), mainly due to higher Science Funding and Technology Transfer grants expenditure.

The total grants awarded increased by £34m, owing to a small rise in funding rates and the number of grants funded.

Expenditure on activities managed directly by the Trust was similar to last year’s figure.
