Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC)

Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC) provides a stable, permanent and free-to-access online digital archive of full-text, peer-reviewed research publications. It is based on PubMed Central (PMC) - the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences literature.
Europe PMC content is freely available and can be accessed by all researchers, and not just those based at an institution that subscribes to a particular journal.
This content can be searched via the Europe PMC website, which provides innovative tools and services for the research community: a single search to PubMed citations, including the bibliographic details of books held in PubMed Boookshelf, PMC full text articles and other relevant content, such as clinical guidelines and European biomedical theses, and the integration of text-mining services, which highlight and link biological entity types found within the text of an article to external data sources.
Europe PubMed Central
The European Research Council (ERC) announced on 13 July 2012 that it will be participating in what was then known as UKPMC, joining the 18 existing UK and European funders. As a result of this participation, the funders agreed the service would be rebranded as 'Europe PubMed Central' (Europe PMC) by 1 November 2012. A key aim of this initiative is to extend the repository further and encourage other European funders of life sciences research to make the outputs of the research they fund freely available through Europe PMC.
