Statement on human participants in research
The Wellcome Trust expects all work involving human participants to be undertaken in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Researchers are responsible for ensuring they are aware of the issues surrounding the use of human subjects in research and have obtained all necessary approvals.
The Trust will consider applications before the consent of the relevant ethics committee is obtained and before statutory procedures have been completed, but no research should begin until all relevant approvals have been granted.
See the full guidelines on good research practice.
