Rod Kent
Rod Kent joined the Board of Governors in February 2008. He also sits on the Investment Committee.

Rod Kent has worked all his professional life in the City. He was Managing Director of Close Brothers, the merchant bank, for 28 years until 2002. He was non-executive Director and then Chairman of M&G Group from 1995 to 1999, Senior Independent Director of Whitbread plc from 2002 to 2007 and Chairman of Bradford & Bingley plc from 2002 to 2008.

He is currently Chairman of the BT Pension Scheme Trustees and non-executive director of Grosvenor Group Limited, the private property company.

In addition to his business activities, he runs a dairy farm in Berkshire and for several years was a trustee of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, which makes grants in many areas including education, the environment and arts and heritage.
