Information for overseas applicants

Applicants from outside the UK should note that the Wellcome Trust is bound by certain legal restrictions applying to the employment in the UK of non-UK nationals. The Trust can apply for work permits from the UK Government (Department for Work and Pensions) only if there are no suitable candidates who are ordinarily resident in the UK or who are nationals of the European Economic Area.

The Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 requires that all successful candidates will be asked to provide evidence of their immigration status and eligibility to seek work in the UK. You will be asked to show appropriate evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK when you are invited to interview at the Wellcome Trust.
